It is time for the next Saturday Centus inspired by Jenny Matlock's prompt which will appear in bold in the 100 word piece. This week the prompt is a line from the Bruno Mars song, Grenade.
Wedding over, guests departed, the couple sat on the bed together, elated, exhausted, in love, confused, MARRIED!
"So, we did it!"
"Yes, we did!"
"It was a wonderful wedding..."
"Yes.."
"Are you happy?"
"Beyond words...you know, I'd catch a grenade for you.."
There was silence....then she knew she had made the right decision.
"I would catch one for you too."
I loved this! What a sweet, happy use of a difficult prompt. Great job! Kat
ReplyDeleteThis was a sweet one for sure! It was an evil prompt to work with, but you did it with style!!
ReplyDeleteI love that you've chosen to use the 'sunny side' of this prompt. This piece is a simply stunning tribute to hope for the future.
ReplyDeleteThis take on the prompt was lovely and heartwarming...just wonderful...made me smile so big !!!

That's very sweet. I was hanging in, nervously, for a moment before she said she would too. Thanks for bringing a smile to my face.

ReplyDeleteThanks everyone. For some reason I wanted to put a more positive spin on the prompt. I am glad it came out as a sweet moment for everyone. I've really enjoyed reading everyone's posts..some are so dark, others funny...I love how different we all are!
ReplyDeleteTouching and sweet.
ReplyDeleteI'm delighted to see this post with a happy ending! Good writing, fine dialogue.
ReplyDeleteNamaste..........cj
I loved how sweet this was.
ReplyDeleteThe one I wrote that never go around to posting had something similar going but then an actual grenade so it was cynical and mean.
I like the sweet version wayyyy better.
Thanks for a sweet little gem of a story here.
