Deciding on a Focus

This is not my first blog. It is probably not my last bog either.  At the moment, it is the blog I am 'experimenting' with things such as layout, content and the audience I am trying to reach.  One of my other blogs has a very definite purpose.  The audience was not considered at all when I began it...it was for me alone, and for my close friends and family.  It has grown into a wonderful small community of followers who cheer me on and keep me sane. 

I also want to blog for other reasons, however.  In my year and a half of blogging, I have read so many inspiring pieces of writing, marvelled at artwork, photography , crafts and music.  Many blogs have such specific purposes, and audiences to match.  Some are more diverse and ad-hoc in nature and their followers are from a range of interests.  Some blogs are amazing sources of inspiration, or spark debate, or provide information relating to a specific topic.   Others, are more like family memoirs, cherishing special times with the kids and are obviously created for the future. 

So what should this blog be about?  I am not sure yet.  Perhaps a blog about blogs...recommending blogs for specific audiences or promoting their special qualities amongst the blogging community.  I could intersperse these observations with my own thoughts and general ramblings; as you see, I am more than comfortable typing whatever is on my mind at the time, and in the actual order it all comes to me. 

I have a feeling this blog might be a little of everything at first...fonts changing, layouts being tweaked, mind being changed....I will understand if you quit me due to sheer frustration at trying to work out what the heck I'm going on about. 

Most of all, however, I see this blog as a challenge to discover who else I am.  What I am capable of, and where I am headed.  I really hope some people join me on my journey, and I make some friends along the way.   That is, after all, why blogging has lasted as long as it has, don't you think?
